We’re going for gritty, real-life photographs here this week (as evidenced by yesterday’s living room shot).  Today was gloriously sunny, quite warm, and gently breezy.  Lunch on the patio, baby in the pram, kids playing for hours in the yard, dinner on the grill, and laundry on the line.  Just a perfect day.

Someday – too soon, most likely – I’ll have two typing hands again, and I’ll share something big and meaningful and important, but for now, we’re going to with pictures.  And really, I’d love to see your ordinary, real-life photos, too.

  1. Lovely photos!

Do you shoot the black and white ones on a setting, or edit them afterwards?

    1. Sometimes, I edit them, but these are shot in black and white. I’ve always loved black and white photography, and in the old film days, I used to shoot every third roll in b&w. I also love color, though, and it’s hard for me to give it up once I’ve seen it. If it isn’t there to begin with, though, I can just be happy. 🙂

      1. I used to do a roll of b/w film every six months or so. I also love black and white photography. When we rode on the Creeper Trail in Virginia last summer, we found out about a photographer who uses black and white almost exclusively. O Winston Link is his name. Amazing photographer!

        1. Light and shadows seem so much more defined, don’t you think? And I was kind of inspired by an exhibit at the art museum the other day. 🙂

          1. I was trying to think this morning what draws me to black and white. The light and shadows definitely, but also things seem maybe more quiet and reverent. Whatever the reason, I do love black and white photography!

  2. That’s good because I enjoy your pictures! I think my favorite is the one of the stroller. Handy to have a stroller like that!

    1. That pram is fabulous! I got it for Evie. The big wheels do great in a pasture, and the bassinet can be switched out for a fully reclining seat. Even came with rain and mosquito covers!
